Automobile Production Data for January 2011
Number of Automobiles Produced
Automobile production in January 2011 was recorded as 706,107 units. Compared with the 753,734 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is a decrease of 47,627 units or 6.3%, and production decreased on the same month of the previous year for four consecutive months.

1) Passenger cars: 609,598 units, down 47,008 units or 7.2%

Domestic sales in January 2011 stood at 305,496 vehicles, down 16.7% as compared with the same month of the previous year.

Automobile export in January 2011 was recorded as 365,288 units. Compared with the 340,421 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 24,867 units or 7.3%, and export increase on the same month of the previous year for thirteen consecutive months.

Motorcycle export in January 2011 was recorded as 43,664 units. Compared with the 38,255 units total recorded for the same month of the previous year, this is an increase of 5,409 units or 14.1%, and export increase on the same month of the previous year for nine consecutive months.
