This organization was formed on June 1, 1997 with the approval of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), presently the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). 60 members joined at the beginning but every year the number of the members is steady increased so that at the end of Sep 2016 the members are now exceeding 230.
